A/Prof Margaret Potter is an education consultant, health professional and internationally certified coach with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals, groups and organisations to optimise communication, teamwork and workplace-based performance. Margaret is a sought after presenter who will engage, inform and entertain participants with a “hands on” approach.

Workshop outline

With frequent exposure to emotional situations, an individual’s level of stress can accumulate and lead to mental and physical exhaustion. For health professionals, this is not an unusual scenario given they spend a great deal of their time caring for others, and in so doing often do not pay enough attention to their own health and well-being resulting in burnout.

This 1/2 day workshop is interactive and will raise awareness among participants about self-care and provide strategies to improve self-management. At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Define burnout and identify key features
  • Identify common risk factors for burnout
  • Self-assess their current ‘level of burnout’
  • Implement a range of strategies to improve self-care
