Website Basics and Online Marketing
This exciting workshop is being co-ordinated by The Small Business Development Corporation’s Sherryn McBride and includes three, 2 hour workshops. Each 2 hourly workshop will give you skills in different areas essential in being able to run or work in your own business.
Website Basics – This two hour workshop is designed for small business operators who do not have a website, or those who have one but want to better understand how it works. If your business does not have a website you are missing out on one of the most important marketing tools available. Clients don’t always buy online, but they do use the internet to research and compare products and services. If your business doesn’t have a website then you will be missing out on clients. Website Basics is a practical workshop that describes the main concepts you need to understand before you design and build a website yourself, or how to discuss your vision and needs with your professional web developer.
Online Marketing – This four hour workshop ( split into 2 x 2 hours ) is perfect for anyone who is confused or lacking in confidence when it comes to online marketing. If you don’t reach out to customers and establish your brand through marketing, your business is unlikely to succeed. Within your overall marketing strategy it is essential to consider how to engage with clients in the online environment. From Facebook and Twitter to TripAdvisor and Google+, it is important for all small business owners to understand and embrace the many online opportunities available. With more than 80% of people in Australia stating they are internet users, rising to 97% of those on higher incomes, it is essential for your business to have an online presence. It’s no longer enough to just to have a website; you need to actively engage with existing and potential clients. Even if you don’t sell your products or services online, people are increasingly using the internet for research – if they can’t easily find your business, they’ll soon find another one.
This workshop will focus on how to maximise your social media presence and drive traffic to your website. The experienced presenter will take you through a range of practical, free and low cost online marketing options, including search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media.
