Thank you to all our Special Interest Group Convenors and Committee Members from 2023. Many of you are moving on in 2023 and WA OT Association would like to say that we appreciate all the work involved in coordinating these important groups. On behalf of all the members who attend and Management Committee –  Thank You. 

Upcoming Interest Group PDs 

Various Interest Groups run throughout the year and throughout Western Australia. A list of those Interest Groups who are affiliated with the WA Occupational Therapy Association with the current contact details of the convenor/s is below:


DOT(WA) Inc.

MOU Between DOT(WA) Inc. and WAOTA

The DOT(WA) Inc. Interest Group meets at 9am on the first Friday of every month in the conference room at the State Child Developmental Centre, Rheola St, West Perth.  Each meeting consists of a business / networking meeting followed by a PD.  Interest group members from around the state are invited to attend or link-in via videoconference for the PD session.   If you would like to join the DOT(WA) Interest Group for further information please contact: Jacqui Hunt  http://dotwa.org.au/ for an application form to join.


HAND INTEREST GROUP 

Interest Group PDs are free for WA Occupational Therapy Association members and $10 for non members. PDs are generally bi-monthly. For general interest group enquiries please contact handinterestgroup@gmail.com

OT SERVICES IN THE HOME INTEREST GROUP

The OT services in the home interest group aims to provide OTs with a forum to develop networks, share information, review new technologies and latest developments  related to equipment and modifications in the home, as well as provide support for issues/ concerns raised by members. Topics discussed vary and members are able to contribute to the agenda. The group meets  on the third Thursday bi-monthly at 7:30am – 8:30am. The  meetings are mostly held in the OT Department at Osborne Park Hospital with the exception of  occasional  site visits. The meetings are free to attend for WA Occupational Therapy Association members  however non-members  are required to pay a fee of $10 for each meeting they attend. Workshops are listed on the WAOTA website with online bookings only via https://waota.com.au/cpd-activity/interest-group-courses/. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Camille Wakefield or Anna Mills at otservicesinthehome@waota.com.au to be added to the mailing list.

WORKPLACE REHABILITATION INTEREST GROUP

The Workplace Rehabilitation Interest Group is a platform to assist with the education and development of Occupational Therapists in the field of Workplace Rehabilitation. The group hopes to provide a space in which interested students, new graduates and long-standing professionals in the field can share information about the diverse world of workplace rehabilitation. This interest group is pioneered by OTs associated with ARPA (Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association). For more information email workplacerehab@waota.com.au
