The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Sydney are currently recruiting for a temporary full time Level 3 Occupational Therapist (Inpatient Rehab) – this is a maternity leave locum, available until end Sept 2019.  This is a great opportunity for a therapist with skills in brain injury and spinal cord injury rehab, and would be appropriate for either a paediatric or adult background.

LOCUM OPPORTUNITY

A full time 3 month locum position has become available at Melville Occupational Therapy and Extra Lesson for Children from mid October 2018 through to the 19th December. This position may lead to further work in the 2019. I would consider splitting this position if the applicants met the criterion.

We are seeking a self-motivated flexible OT who has experience in all or most of the following areas:

  • Sensory Processing and Sensory based intervention.
  • Ability to work with all ages within paediatrics.
  • Fine motor and visual and auditory processing.
  • Auditory Intervention (Integrated Listening System and Therapeutic Listening)
  • ASD, ADHD, SPD, learning difficulties, developmental delay and neuro related conditions.

Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Ideally looking for a part time therapist 3-6pm three times per week, however flexible with hours. A relationship for a starting referral base is in place for OT intervention for school age children.

Applicant will require some of own equipment and assessments. Some equipment and basic observation/assessment and some intervention tools on hand at WCOTS.

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Previous paediatric experience
  • Registered with AHPRA
  • Passion for working with children
  • Highly developed and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic
  • Client focused

Preferable skills:

  • An understanding of paediatric school age assessments
  • Marketing ability

Occupational Therapist

Position available for a proactive and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to work in private practice in the soft tissue area.  Experience in the soft tissue area at a student or professional level is preferred. There is opportunity to build a client base for soft tissue and ergonomics within a supportive team environment.

SCGH is a 750 bed acute tertiary hospital.  It is home to WA’s only comprehensive cancer centre – the largest cancer treatment centre in the State – and is the state’s principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants. The Occupational Therapy department has leading services in Cancer, Acute Neurosciences, Emergency and Hand and Upper Limb therapy.

All Occupational Therapists at SCGH have expertise in cognition, pressure injury management and falls prevention in relation to occupational performance and the environment plus additional occupational therapy clinical skills relevant to the specialty they work in.

It is an exciting and challenging time in health; innovation is encouraged to proactively manage the increasing number and complexity of patients in acute care. The position is for a full time therapist commencing August/early September. Previous experience in hand therapy clinical practice is essential.
