This full day course has been compiled and will be presented by Brett Zani and Jessica Press, who have a combined 20 years of experience of pain/injury management and improving occupational performance within the context of Soft Tissue Occupational Therapy. Brett and Jess aim to provide professional, functional and highly relevant training courses to empower and enhance the diagnostic and rehabilitative skills of Occupational Therapists working in pain and injury management in Soft Tissue and other areas of practice.

Participants must have completed a Basic Soft Tissue Course or Fieldwork Placement and are advised to wear clothing that will facilitate palpation of surface anatomy and passive movement of joints/limbs.

By the end of this course attendees will have be able to:

  • Identify and palpate relevant anatomical structures within the hip region
  • Describe and identify many common hip pathologies and how they impact a person’s occupational performance
  • Utilise standardised orthopaedic assessments to correctly diagnose and recognise a variety of acute and chronic hip pathologies
  • Apply advanced soft tissue treatment techniques and clinical reasoning skills to rehabilitate hip pathologies and facilitate occupational function that have been considered using evidence based data

This course will provide attendees with the confidence and ability to identify, assess and treat common hip pathologies utilising evidence based data to facilitate timely, professional and successful rehabilitation outcomes. New therapists will gain valuable clinical skills and evidence based protocols that they can immediately utilise in practice. Experienced therapists will learn contemporary evidence based diagnostic methods and treatment protocols which can be added to their established practice methods and ensure they continue to provide efficacious care to their clients.
